PAID Chapter 92
PAID Chapter 92
When Sunwoo arrived in the city, he went to the first hotel he had stayed at, only to be struck with dismay. A sign indicated that the hotel was closed for renovations and would not reopen until next spring.
It was already evening, and Sunwoo felt lost, unsure of where to go. As the sun set, the air grew cold, his body fatigued, and he was also hungry.
Thinking he should at least fill his stomach, he walked down the street and noticed a small bookstore glowing with a warm crimson light.
Like a moth drawn to a flame, Sunwoo found himself entering the shop, almost as if hypnotized. In reality, there wasn’t much to see. As a neighborhood bookstore, most of the items were study guides and exercise books, with the rest being practical books or self-help guides. Only a few literary works were available.
Still, the cozy atmosphere lulled him into a state of comfort as he skimmed through the sparse collection of novels and picked one to read.
"Would you like a cup of tea, young guest?"
At that moment, the elderly shopkeeper, who seemed to be busy knitting something, called out to Sunwoo.
On the counter in front of the shopkeeper were three freshly steamed buns and a cup of tea, steaming gently.
Sunwoo’s eyes were drawn to the buns, and he unconsciously swallowed in hunger. It was only then that he realized the shopkeeper had spoken to him.
"Ah... um."
"Please, sit here."
Perhaps thinking Sunwoo would refuse, the shopkeeper gently tapped the seat in front of her and invited him again. A small electric heater was placed near the seat, emitting a warm glow.
In a daze, Sunwoo sat down in front of the shopkeeper. She then placed a cup of tea in front of him and pushed the plate of steamed buns his way.
"Eat. They’re fresh and warm, just taken out."
Thanking the shopkeeper, Sunwoo took a sip of tea. Then, he ate the bun she had given him.
