Chapter 407: Comforting Kiss
Chapter 407: Comforting Kiss
Eira’s POV
I felt much lighter after talking to him. The thorn of his silence had been stuck in my heart for a long time.
"You can get up. How long are you going to kneel?" I asked, seeing him not in a mood to move.
"I should be punished with kneeling before you till the end of my life," he said. "This is nothing."
"Get up now," I insisted. "I don’t want you to kneel before me."
He finally stood up, holding my hands, and I followed him as well. As we stood facing each other, his fingers gently pushed the loose strands of my hair aside as his thumb wiped away the traces of tears from my cheeks, his hands cradling my face.
His gaze, the same pair of light green eyes I had always loved, observed my face. He was just as handsome as before, a little rougher than the softer look in the past, but even more enchanting.
"How long has it been since I saw you this close, like this?" he commented, his gaze as if he could never have enough of looking at me. "I thought I would never be able to be this close to you ever again and hold you like this."
"You think too much," I said, a light smile on my face, my eyes observing him. "You got a witchy face. It has always been."
He raised a brow.
"I mean an enchanting face," I explained. "Never failed to bewitch me."
He pulled me closer, his one hand wrapped around my waist firmly, his other hand playing with my hair just like in the past. He said he loved my hair, that they are beautiful.
"Am I that handsome?" he asked.
I nodded. "I fell for your face when I saw you for the first time. I was so shallow, right?"
He chuckled softly. "I don’t mind you being shallow as long as it’s me you fall for."
"I am so hollow, I fell for four other handsome men," I said playfully. "Thankfully, no one’s ugly, or my shallow heart had been hurt badly."
He laughed lightly, that mesmerising smile on his lips I could see once more so closely.
But then his gaze moved to my smiling lips; his gaze told me his intentions. It reminded me of the first kiss we had under that tree, in the place we used to meet after my classes were over.
So many years passed, I still felt that kiss. Maybe it was true when they say the first kiss is always unforgettable. It was true in my case.
My heart beat faster at the thought of feeling it once more, with him, after so long.
"Can I?" he whispered slowly, closely, just a little away from my lips.
In response, I moved up and my lips met his. He didn’t need to ask.
He was a little surprised, but I felt his lips curve into a smile against mine before capturing them in a soft, gentle kiss.
It was just like our first kiss, as if he was trying to remind me of it once more, or trying to reminisce about it himself.
The world seemed to quiet around us.
His fingers tightened slightly at my waist, his other hand cradled my face as he deepened the kiss. His tongue slowly invaded my mouth, stealing my breath way.
My hands moved up to his shoulders, clutching onto him, holding him like I had once held onto those memories hidden inside that box. But this time, he wasn’t a memory. He was here. Breathing. Warm. Mine to touch.
The kiss deepened just a little, still gentle, still hesitant, but carrying everything we couldn’t say in words.
Apology. Longing. Regret.
Love that had never truly left.
A soft breath escaped me as I leaned closer into him, my heart beating so loudly I was sure he could hear it.
For a moment, I was afraid.
Afraid that if I closed my eyes for too long, this would vanish. That I would open them and find myself alone again, holding onto nothing but old pieces of him.
But his hand moved to the back of my head, steady and warm, grounding me.
"I’m leaving you this time," he murmured softly against my lips, as if he could hear that fear without me saying it.
My eyes fluttered open, meeting his.
Those same light green eyes. Still holding me the same way they used to. Still making my heart stumble like it always had.
I let out a shaky breath and rested my forehead against his shoulder, to let the reality of existence sink in me. My hand wrapped around him in firm hold, letting his scent fill my senses.
It was that familiar comfort I felt with him in the past, and I could feel it again as if I was back to my home once more.
He hugged me back, I felt him breathing deep over my head, I knew it was my hair’s scent he had always loved.
Just then, a sound of small cry filled the room.
Kaya was awake. Jason let me go, as both of us turned towards the crib next to my bed.
Jason, went to her and picked her up in his arms. Since Kaya was born, Jason was her in house nanny who took care of most of the things. Maybe as a doctor he understood the child well.
She lazily twisted her body in his arms, and let out a yawn.
he smiled and pecked on her forehead, his eyes always full of affection whenever he looked at her.
"We need a change of nappy," Jason put her on the nappy changing table and already began.
Once done, he said, "She seems hungry."
I sat on the bed to feed her as Jason helped me settled with the support pillow. And sat there.
It didn’t feel like Kaya wasn’t his daughter. The best thing in this home was, everything belonged to everyone, and no one differentiated what belonged to whom.
My kids had five fathers, who loved them, could protect them.
But I couldn’t help ask, "In the past we talked about having lots of kids, and our family. But, now you know, I can have kids only with fated mate."
He hummed and said, "the goal was to have a family of mine, our family, my own happy world. And I think I have it already. I have a big happy family and kids as well. You can a few more kids with Kael so this family gets bigger."
I chuckled, "Lucian warned me for not having any more kids for sometime."
Jason, smiled as well, "Once he feels he had enough of you, he will ask for more kids. Just wait for it."
Kaya fell asleep once more when she was full.
Keeping her back in the Crib, Jason said, "They must be waiting for me downstairs."
"This room is not soundproof. I am sure they heard us already," I said, knowing these wolves and their senses really well now.
Jason hummed with a smile, and I said, "Let’s go together. I want to see how they curse you for being that mysterious boyfriend of mine."
His brows crunched lightly as he knew, he was going to face lot of questioning.
"I am ready to see you speechless, and bothered," I said, already walking ahead to leave the room.
He followed behind.
